I'm not clear if the warning was referring to my default list or the new list, although in the past the subtask warning has only appeared when opening a list with multiple levels of subtasks. At the same time on the other device was open to my default list and the subtask warning popped up on there. Which is weird considering it was a new list. I created a new task list in using a name I know I used previously, and I was immediately presented with a warning about my list containing multiple levels of subtasks. I'm testing with on two devices and Tasks on two devices simultaneously and I did encounter some weird behavior The google account I used is curious if you can reproduce it now. "Improve Tasks" is enabled on the device I just used for the experiment. The only thing that does work is if I then create a new list under the old name (again, it doesn't matter if I do this on the web or in the task app) which will cause all tasks I created on the web to sync (to the list under the new name). If I rename the list in Task app, the new name will carry over to the web list, but the task from web will still not sync to task app.

I looked at the network tab in chrome developer tools to see if there's any request I can wait for that will make things work, but even if I wait very long, the new tasks from the web will never sync to the task app. It pretty much looks like sync is one-way from Task app to web but the other direction is almost completely broken. If I create a new task in the Task app, it will sync to web, but the task I created before will not sync. Even renaming the list on the web will not cause the new name to sync to the app. The new task will not sync to the task app. Go to that list on the web and create a new task. To my surprise I can reproduce this very reliably and it's worse than I thought:Ĭreate a new list (on Task app or web doesn't matter) and add one task (empty lists apparently do not sync) -> The list and the task will sync from/to app and web. If its not enabled, can you toggle 'Improve Tasks' on so your device submits exceptions? Tasks on two devices, or gmail + Tasks, etc). If this is something you can reproduce reliably can you tell me what devices you're using (e.g. Right now I'm testing two devices running Tasks but haven't been able to reproduce this yet.

When this happens are only some tasks synchronizing but others aren't, or are modifications not synchronizing, or are you not getting any tasks at all? sync doesn't complete successfully but Tasks updates the ETag and doesn't fetch anything until the ETag changes again Now it's only checking lists if the ETag changed. Previously Tasks would fetch all lists and compare timestamps to see which lists to update. I did make some Google Task changes in the latest release ( db3927a).
